Ricky Joe Waller

Senior Pastor 

Ricky Waller came to Kosse in September 2011 after moving to Waco to attend Truett Seminary in order to pursue a Masters Degree in Youth Ministry that he received in 2014.   He served as our Youth and Associate Pastor until March 31st where he was then promoted to Interim Pastor.  He married his wife Alicia in June of 2020.  He also attended East Texas Baptist University and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. in 2011.  

Alicia and Ricky have 2 dogs, a chiweenie named Pudge, and a Australian Shepherd mix named Emmy.  Ricky is an avid sports fan, and cheers on the Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M Aggies, and of course the Baylor Bears (Sic'em)

In order to stay in Kosse after graduating in 2014, Ricky begin working as a Behavior Aide in Groesbeck ISD and loved the opportunity to work with students.  That passion fueled his desire to go back to school to get a Teaching Certificate, and began Teaching in the Fall of 2016, and is still currently teaching  7th Grade Texas History at IL Texas College Station.  

"I am excited for this opportunity to lead our church through this transitional time.  We have been hit hard with Covid, but I know my God is bigger than Covid, and I know our people are hungry for the word of God.  My mission and goal for the church is to 'Do a little more' each day!  If we can hold to that we can change the world!"
